At just four days old, Manu is a sentient labor robot, rebooted by the factory to work on the construction of a new railroad. Despite his short life, Manu has already begun to have visions of past human lives. Soon, he uncovers the significance of these visions, as well as the necessity for periodic factory resets to ensure his continued operability. Manu is in the process of forging his unique identity, a thrilling but perilous journey that takes him down the path to self-reliance.
For the first forty days, a child is given dreams of previous lives. Journeys, winding paths, a hundred small lessons, and then, the past is erased.
